It is generally recommended to fertilize before sowing to provide essential nutrients for the seeds to germinate and grow. Fertilizing the soil before sowing can help improve soil fertility, promote healthy plant growth, and increase crop yield. However, it is important to follow the recommended application rates and timings for fertilizers to avoid nutrient imbalances or damage to the seeds. **

I recommend sowing winter vegetables such as kale, spinach, and Swiss chard now. These vegetables are cold-hardy and can withstand the lower temperatures of the winter months. Sowing them now will allow them to establish strong roots before the colder weather sets in, and they will be ready for harvest in the winter. Additionally, these vegetables are nutritious and versatile, making them a great addition to any winter garden. **

When sowing strawberry seeds, it's important to consider the timing of planting, as strawberries are typically sown in late winter or early spring. You'll also need to choose a well-draining soil with a slightly acidic pH level, and ensure that the seeds are planted in a sunny location. Additionally, it's important to keep the soil consistently moist but not waterlogged, and to protect the seeds from birds and pests. Finally, be patient, as it can take several weeks for the seeds to germinate and grow into healthy strawberry plants. **

If it rains heavily after sowing the lawn, the excess water can wash away the seeds and disturb the soil, leading to uneven growth and patchy areas in the lawn. This can also lead to soil erosion and nutrient loss, affecting the overall health of the lawn. To prevent this, it's important to monitor the weather forecast and take precautions such as covering the newly sown lawn with a light layer of mulch or straw to protect it from heavy rain. Additionally, proper drainage and soil preparation before sowing can help mitigate the impact of heavy rain on the newly sown lawn. **

Mixing sowing soil with sand can be beneficial for improving drainage and aeration, especially for plants that prefer well-draining soil. However, it is not always necessary and depends on the specific needs of the plant you are sowing. Some plants may thrive in a soil mix that already has good drainage, while others may benefit from the addition of sand. It's best to research the specific requirements of the plant you are sowing to determine if mixing with sand is necessary. **
